About DOTA2 REPLAY
Watching a Dota 2 replay should be as simple as opening a web page.
Start with a match ID or a local file
Learn the two ways to open a replay and what to do when a public recording expires or a file cannot be parsed.
Follow heroes and inspect items and match stats
Learn hero selection and camera follow, then explore spectator views, item and ability panels, and match stats.
Common questions
Enter a match ID on the home page and click Watch replay, or choose Import replay in the player to select a local .dem file. Once processed, play, change speed, scrub the timeline or jump to kills and teamfights.
Click Share in the player, choose Share clip, enter start and end times using the in-game clock, and copy the link. The link loads the replay, jumps to the start, highlights the clip and pauses at its end. You can also share a full match or a single moment. Negative pregame times are supported. If the replay has expired, import a .dem file of the same match.
Dota 2 Source 2 .dem replays are supported. You can also import .bz2, .zst, .zstd or .gz compressed replays directly without extracting them first. Both the imported file and the decompressed replay must be no larger than 384 MiB. Some older or damaged replays may not be parsed.
Local files are not uploaded. Your device handles decompression and parsing.
Hero positions, items, abilities and events come from the replay. Map assets use a fixed version. Lighting, water and some effects are simplified; team vision is approximate. Map version differences may affect trees and buildings. This review tool does not fully replace the game client.
